THE GOBLIN CITY
 A Quake Mini-Project

NOTE 2001: This is a rereleased version of this map (originally release 1998). The first had its own goblin skin and two new 
weapons. This version has the Soul Of Evil goblin and no new weapons. Should be quite a challenge seeing as you just get the 
shotguns. There is one megahealth in this map. Use it wisely.

[Introduction]

The Goblin City is a new scenario added to standard quake.  It features a new monster(the Goblin)
and a new map (the City).

The Goblin City plays just like any Quake map, except for the fact that a few things have been
changed to suit the medieval atmosphere (barrels, sounds, ect).The Goblin city is playable in 
Single play, Co-op, and also supports DM (it has 16 player starts)

NOTES: This version contains the Soul Of Evil goblin skin for the enforcer as the first was lost
with the corrupted pakfile on cdrom.com. Get this version at http://www.planetquake.com/tronyn/soul

[Installation]

1) in your Quake directory, make a directory called GC (ie c:\quake\GC) and put all of the Goblin
 City's files in that directory.
2)start quake by typing quake (or GLquake) -winmem 16 -game GC +map GC +skill (put the skill # 
you want here, 0, 1, 2, or 3)
3)you will be in the Goblin City, ready to rock

*IMPORTANT NOTE!* Goblin City was designed to be run in Glquake, and it may not perform very
well under standard quake.  There may be greyflashes and slowdown.  Think of this as a hint to
buy a 3d card =).  I can offer a slight amount of help for you deprived, non-GL users:

[The Story so far]

You are a village Guard, assigned to the watchtower duty for the afternoon.  You have heard
strange rumors of a race of Goblins from the far west, besieging villages very much like your own
to rid the world of humanity, and reclaim the earth that once was theirs.  As you wait, you hear
strange cacklings from outside the City.  As you climb the tower to get a better look, you hear a
loud explosion.  You jump down the tower, see shadowy figures emerging around you, and run into
the tower's lower level to hide.  Looks like there was truth those rumors.  The Goblins have 
destroyed the very village you were guarding.  Now it's time to destroy them.
