* Description *
Runic Fear is a small-to-intermediate sized nonlinear runic/metal
map designed for stock Quake single player.

Single player           : Yes
Cooperative             : Supported, but not tested.
Deathmatch              : Supported, but not tested.
Difficulty settings     : Yes. Read below.
Recommended engines:    : FitzQuake 0.85+ or any comparable modern engine

* Construction *

Base			: New
Editor(s) used		: Worldcraft 3.3
Build Time		: ~45 hours over 4 weeks
Compile Times		: BSP ~5 seconds, Vis ~10 seconds, Light ~5 minutes.
Known Bugs		: FitzQuake 0.85 reported a SV_TouchLinks warning.
			  However, the map does not crash in FQ 0.85, RMQEngine,
			  or even in id's stock 1996 quake.exe

* Notes *
To play the map, place runfear.bsp in the quake\id1\maps directory.
Start your quake engine of choice, choose a skill level (type
"skill X" in the console, where X = 0 (easy), 1 (medium), 2 (hard).
Next, type "map runfear" in the console to begin the map.

This map has been balanced to the best of my ability for all 3 skill levels, best described as:
Easy: I'm here to explore the map and have fun (47 monsters).
Medium: Probably a safe middle gound (70 monsters).
Hard: I have no fear (88 monsters).

This map began as a challenge for me to finish my first true single player
map for Quake. I'd been involved in plenty of mapping projects for QW MegaTF, but
the idea of a simple single player map was always in the back of my mind. My
goal with this map was to have it done within a months' time, with approximately
30-40 hours of work from the concept sketches to the completed product. The final
bsp took around 45 hours to produce. I hope Runic Fear provides a solid 10-15 minutes
of gameplay for you.
