--- Play Information (also see Gameplay Tips section near bottom!) ---

NOTE: THIS LEVEL NEEDS AIR CONTROL SET TO 35% (the default) or GREATER

Game : Unreal Tournament

Level Name : Aged Vs. Aliens (CTF)

Game Type : CTF (Capture The Flag) - 4 on 4 or more is best.

Deathmatch too? : If you want! Just copy/rename the file to DM-AgedVsAlien
It makes a fun & intense - albeit huge - team deathmatch map!

Single Player : Yes (with bots)

Bots Supported : Yes! Comments follow:
This level was designed for HUMANS to use first, BOTS second!
I created it primarily for my LAN party group to enjoy.
Bots WILL play the level acceptably (just watch a 3-on-3 bot
CTF game as spectator - they WILL get the flag and return it).
But, there's a lot of tricky and strategic parts that bots
don't use optimally - like the hoverpad that goes under the
bridge, or the 2-level complex semicircular elevator plats.
(However, bots WILL teleport down to the lavafall area.)
Yes, if I worked professionally, I'd consider bots far more when
designing a level - but for now, I don't have that restriction,
so I made it primarily for strategically-minded HUMANS to enjoy!
One final note - bots will use jumppads ok, but as UT designers
know, they often don't exercise smart air-control and sometimes
fall short or long of the destination you give them.

Multiplayer : Yes. Ideal for 4 on 4!
New Sounds : No
New Graphics : Just a screenshot ;) No new textures.
New Unrealscript : No
Known Bugs : Not really - maybe see caveats about bot play above.
The central region may be a bit slow if you have a slow CPU
(sorry! my LAN group all has fairly fast computers/vid cards).
On a friend's GeForce card, the star-chamber room shows a tiny bit
of the outside catwalks. At rare times one bottom semicircular
elevator plat near the lavafalls has lighting/clipping flickers,
but it is still there and works properly, so gameplay is ok.
(I was unable to make 'dynamically lit mover' to work correctly.)

Construction
------------
Editor used : UnrealEd
Base : new level
Construction time : 8 or 9 pizzas
Development mode : Software mode only in graphics (I don't have a nice 3D
card yet - and my ancient one won't work with UT! :(

Gameplay Tips
-------------
* Be sure you have air control set to 35% (the default) or greater.
* Flags are suspended high in the rooms with the big rings in them. Use the
jump pads (or your teleporter disc) to get up there.
* There are 4 entries/exits from each 'flag room'. Learn their advantages/disadvantages.
* Use the hovering platform to go under the central bridge for goodies and powerups.
* There's a Redeemer in the 'star chamber' room near bottom lava - ride the blue pad!
* Use the outdoor jumppads to go several key places: 1) to other side 2) on top of
the central bridge, or 3) up to teleporter!
* This is a COMPLEX level - taking time to learn the nooks and crannies pays off.
* All those sniper/bunker slits are there for a reason - use them!

Author's Notes
--------------
This is my first map. (That's why it's HUGE!) I was trying to learn how to do
all the 'tricks' - fog, lava, water, jump pads, elevators, etc. So it all got
stuffed into one level! Now that I hopefully know a bit better what I'm doing
(hey, stop snickering!) I hope to make some smaller, tighter, faster maps.
Time will tell how embarassed I am about this one! He he he.
THANKS FOR PLAYING IT! Hope you like it.
