  Description of the Modification
ͼ

Replaces the regular nail gun with the fire launching Blaze Gun! The blaze
gun has the following attributes and is unique among weapon mods:

fires flame models, not pixelated sprites

launched flames are affected by gravity

for the above reason it does not auto aim

launched flames are extinguished upon impact with water or acid

the blaze gun _can_ be fired under water, but not much happens

all new, very cool sound effects for the firing, impacting and
  extinguishing flames

besides initial impact damage the flame has a slight area effect damage

firing the weapon produces kick-back, affecting the velocity of the
  firing player

there is a chance that flames will catch an entity on fire when it
  impacts it

multiple flames can catch onto an enemy, all visible burning it

flames can spread from one burning entity to another, to other players
or to the player who fired the flame

flames can only be extinguished by immersing the flame (not necessarily
the entire burning entity) in water or acid, or by picking up armor.

zombies recieve extra damage while burning (but not from impact) in order
  that they might eventually gib

A significant amount of time was spent balancing this weapon to make it
worth using in both single player and deathmatch games. The main
disadvantages of the weapon are its kickback, its gravity affected
trajectory, and its capability of injuring the wielder. This is balanced
by the weapon's area effect, the ability to ignite enemies, and the chance
that the fire will spread to other enemy entities. The weapon is slighty
more powerful in single player games because monsters are not modified to
seek water when burning.

This weapon will be included in the release of Cujo 1.3, but is intended
for use on servers, provided that the custom sounds are replaced when
it is installed in the server code.

ͻ
  How to use Modification
ͼ

Select the Blaze Gun by choosing what is normally the nail gun. Fire away.

ͻ
  How to Install the Modification
ͼ

1) Create a directory within the Quake directory called BLAZE.

2) Unzip the files from this archive into that directory, using the -d
option with PKUNZIP. Winzip will create the correct directories
   automatically.

3) Start Quake by typing: QUAKE -GAME BLAZE

4) Play with fire.

ͻ
  Technical Details
ͼ

All the source for Blaze Gun ver 1.2 is included in the BLAZE.QC file,
with the exception of some changes to WEAPONS.QC and ITEMS.QC which are
clearly marked with "//BLAZE GUN".

BLAZE.QC should be compiled before weapons.qc, as is shown in the example
PROGS.SRC file.

ͻ
  Revision History
ͼ

Version 1.2

Picking up armor will extinguish flames.

Fixed respawning/still burning bug again. Tests show it to be fixed
  now (jinx again).

Teammates cannot light one another on fire if teamplay == 1. Nor can
a flame started by one teammate spread to another.

Version 1.1

Fixed multiplayer bug which caused server crash when a player lit was up
by being shot with the blaze gun. This could not occur in single play.

Fixed multiplayer respawning bug which could cause a respawned player
  to still be on fire.

Added routines to facilitate solid corpse burning and respawning entities.

Version 1.0
