You may or may not have seen the RM Nimbus, a 'computer' used in schools. 
It is _very_ rubbish. In fact early models used the 80186 processor, which 
was rejected by Intel^H^H^H^H^HInHell. I'm not sure whether it would be 
going too far to say I would rather use Win95 than a Nimbus. BTW on the 
case the "i" is written in lowercase and the rest of the word is written in
uppercase, which is why I write it as "NiMBUS".

Me and my friends make jokes about NiMBi being radioactive. When I saw 
the DOOM hack FIREWORK.DEH, I thought that the shotgun had an effect rather
like the NiMBUS supposedly had, so I made some graphics to go with it to 
replace the shotgun sprite with a NiMBUS. (I also modified it to be 
rapid-fire and use no ammo).

This patch is an attempt to create a similar weapon for Quake. However, 
this weapon fires only single shots rather than a stream of radiation, and 
uses LOTS of ammo, so it might actually be usable as a proper weapon.

Fire the NiMBUS, and everybody you can see, and sometimes some
monsters/players that you can't see, dies.  Each 'point' of radiation
(there are 5 of them) emits a 300-unit radius explosion.  Each point also
fires 6 bolts of lightning at the first entities it finds within 400 units,
and where a bolt of lightning hits someone/thing a 200-unit radius
explosion is produced.  All this adds up to "100% death or your money
back".  Groups of ogres and fiends drop like flies, and at close range you
can even take out a shambler in one shot.

This firepower costs, however. One shot requires 50 cells, and the weapon 
takes 3 seconds to recharge after firing.

Because the huge destructive power of the NiMBUS also poses a threat to its
user, a shield is included that will make you invulnerable for 1 second
after firing.  This will protect you if the blast from the gun hits close
to you, and allows you to walk right up to a shambler and blow it away at
point-blank range :->

This patch should be good in deathmatch.  (Note:  if you think the
power/ammo used is unfair, modify the source code, which is included)

And all the stuff mentioned above is without quad damage... ;->
