=============================================================================== Title : Space Station Z Filename : DMSpaceStationZ.unr Version : 3/5/99 Author : W. Sharrow Email Address : maxsmoke@mail2.quiknet.com Description : This level doesn't really have any point. It has deathmatch points on it, so if you want to play a deathmatch version of hide-and-go-seek, then this is a good place. But this level isn't designed for anything in particular. What this level IS is a gallery of all the fanciest level design techniques I know of. I started out with a vision of making a very deep shaft with a platform in the center, like in Starwars, and then just started adding ideas as they came to me. As such there is no point, just the coolest stuff I could come up with to add, and this level's got it all! The only thing I didn't add was any one shot effects, like glass or distroyable walls. I wanted all the effects to be continuous and constant. I'm certain that all budding level designer's out there will find something interesting to copy from this, just don't forget where it comes from, eh? ;) Other Unreal levels by author : Cliff Wars, The Shooting Gallery, Lava Castles, BattlefeildZ and HovelTown =============================================================================== * Play Information * Game : Unreal Single Player : You could, but you'd be playing with yourself! Cooperative : Not really... Team : Sure Deathmatch : Yup Difficulty Settings : No New Sounds : No New Graphics : No Demos Replaced : No * Construction * Base : From scratch Build Time : About 30 hours total, over two months. Editor(s) used : UnrealEd Known Bugs : Well with all of this weird stuff in it there's bound to be some bugs. There's suppose to be a brilliant ball of light in the center of the station but Unreal Corona effects have distance limitations so it doesn't show up. For the most part though the level works just fine. Most of the odd stuff in there was done on purpose just to play with your head. * How to use this level * Copy this into your "Unreal\Maps" directory and start up Unreal. Then select a multi-play or Botmatch game, and select it in the level select area. Or you can just double click and explore the level on your own. * Copyright / Permissions * This level is (c) by W.Sharrow 1999. You are NOT allowed to commercially exploit this level, i.e. put it on a CD or any other electronic medium that is sold for money without my explicit permission! Author's Soapbox: Some disreputable companies and magazines used my levels in their CD compellations under the promise of sending me a copy of the CD, and NEVER did! Daniel Emery from PC Zone Magazine and Steve from StudiosWRF, just to name two. I didn't even ask for the CD's but I really hate getting lied to about them. Level designers everywhere should boycott jerks like that!
