=================================================================================== Title : Terran Fortress Version : 1.0 Release Date : 9/17/98 Filename : DmTerranFortress.zip - DmTerranFortress.unr - 687466 bytes - DmTerranFortress.txt - 4834 bytes Author : Daniel "hunchback" Erat Email Address : danerat@mindspring.com (before 9/21/98) erat@cats.ucsc.edu (after) Description : an Unreal DM level for 4-6 players (or more, if you really like carnage and mindless action) Where to get this map : ftp://ftp.cdrom.com/pub/unreal/maps Other levels by author : DmExcavation (locks up after 5-10 minutes in botmatch) DmDowntownRev 2 DM levels in Klingon Honor Guard (I don't know what they're named yet, but one is set in a fiery cavern, and the other in a base) Additional Credits to : Epic Megagames (http://unreal.epicgames.com/) Randar - He helped me with some noding problems. Check out his bot-related webpage at http://www.ionet.net/~mimpchnk/ , or a site with a lot of maps that he's optimized at http://www.telefragged.com/epidemic/ppmgal/table/Unresource.html . (Heh, that URL was a little too long to fit with the rest of my indentation). =================================================================================== --- Play Information --- Game : Unreal Level Name : Terran Fortress Single Player : No Cooperative : No Deathmatch : Yes Dark Match : No Bot support : Yes Difficulty Settings : No New Sounds : No New Graphics : No Gameplay notes : Known bugs : - The jump boots don't seem to always respawn! Damnit!!@#@! - Skaarj bots have some problems in this level (they won't walk to different rooms or swim in the tunnels). You probably won't notice if you're playing with a good number of bots, but if you decide to play a one-on-one botmatch, you should make sure the bot is a human character. :) Note that actual humans playing as the Skaarj class won't have any problems. - Little "personality quirks" that make the bots seem more human (yeah, that's the ticket). :) - Bots jump off of the outside elevator as it goes up, and then get back on. One time, I saw a bot ride it correctly. But other than that, they always jump off. :P - Bots often jump when they go through a doorway. This is probably due to the strange shape of the doorways. - Very occasionally, bots will run in place underwater. I don't think there's really any way to avoid this -- They just sorta get stuck. I tried a lot of different things to avoid this, to no avail. Put 'em out of their misery. >:) - Bots camp in the room with the biorifle. They'll start running around eventually, but it shouldn't really be any problem if you're playing with a couple of bots. --- Construction --- Editor(s) used : UnrealEd Beta Base : New level Construction Time : Less than a week.. probably about 5 days. I didn't keep track of the hours. Installation ------------ Unzip "DmTerranFortress.unr" into your "\Unreal\maps" directory. Run Unreal, and start a botmatch using the level. To look around in singleplayer mode, bring down the console and type "open DmTerranFortress". Author's Notes -------------- Here's my fifth Unreal level.
