I really cannot understand why old ID games are still so expensive nowadays (Quake 3 gold at 18,00€ )but, at least, for 44 hrs from now !!

This probably is a good way to have the whole bundle at a reasonable price!

Yup. Too bad I already bought all of them on Steam, but OTOH it was really in a inexpensive bundle (like this one).

Do the Quake/Doom series come with modernized engines or must users find one in the community?

I think the last one. They come with dosbox setup iirc. But, that's not a problem. it's just few clicks away from here..
And for Quake, I mean,.. probably the greatest problem is that users have too many choices (but probably for a very "nostalgic leap in past days" I'd use yours)!!
