I have cunningly just dragged the edge of the map past the gird-ed area, and pasted a couple of copies of the flats' shell and I'm now compiling it. So the editor lets me go bigger than the gird, and, so far, the tools compile it - the only problem will be I'll have to drag the whole map across the grid to be able to use it (the grid) when constructing sections around the edges.
Yeh, I probably should learn BSP or Radiant, but, well, they're different and I'm lazy learning new stuff
