Alpha dropped 2 days ago, but lost commlink sometime this morning,
James Parkman returns with a strong follow-up to his first map "Advanced Weapons Facility 1 - Infiltration". While not the next in the series from the promised Weapons Facility Trilogy (this map was designed for the QERadiant level contest of March '98) Abandon is a step forward in level design and gameplay for James. It is very evident that James has been learning his craft well. Thanks Felicia (his wife!) for allowing Jim the time to advance in his craft. Abandon is a slugfest. While your compatriots have failed in their quest, you will quickly put your Quake2 skills to the test as you alone attempt to complete your mission against some of the strongest foes yet arrayed in a single independent level. Do not despair, weaponry and health are in good supply as long as you plan your strategy. Remember, a little careful (sometimes blind) sniping goes a long way. Architecture is "heavy metal rust" with some very nice expansive courtyards. These counter nicely the sometimes claustrophobic environment found indoors. So go ahead, abandon a few moments and download Abandon All Hope. You'll be glad you did. |
