One thing I’m proud of myself is that when I discovered the vine leading to the clouds with coins, I called it “coin heaven”, and some time later Nintendo Power called it (or maybe a similar part of SMB3) the same thing, even during the NOA censorship era!

When I don’t have a Fire Flower, I’m much more intimidated by one Hammer Bro on its lonesome like this than a pair with platforms. You’re stuck either leaping over (where you risk getting hit by a hammer) or running under (where you risk getting hit by improperly timing your run/not having the momentum to make it under in time.

Fortunately you can skip the one here, but later…

I could imagine that the Bullet Bills don’t fire in this situation because it would cause a problem for the launcher if the BB’s initial launch is obstructed, but I never understood why the Piranha Plants don’t attack.
