TF History: ReplicanT
As told by ReplicanT
My first encounter with Quake
was when MeatHook got some warez version WAY before it was released and
that set the ball rolling. After quake was officially released Meat and
I became major CTF players. Well, major as in I would bring my laptop
to his house and we would play serial connection with bots. ;D In
any case the most eventful thing that happened because of this was that
was were MeatHook got his name. As for myself, my name DID NOT come from
Blade Runner, ReplicanT is the name of a FrontLine Assembly song. My first
introduction to TF came from JK-Tricky, a friend of mine. As soon
as I got it, I fell in love. Meat and I started playing avidly at
his house (as you can see, a lot of my history involves MeatHook).
We started a clan, FBK, but this went no where and it was sort of a joke.
One day Meat had the idea to start a serious clan and e/X was born.
Electronic eXecution isn't too well known today but it was the spring board
for a lot of well known players. MeatHook, Tricky, Conquix, Killer Rat,
Tetra, Ajax, Clorox, and Jaeger to name a few.
I went away in the summer
of that year and missed a lot of the prime e/X action. After a loss to
SC e/X broke up and Meat and Tricky went to join DV. I didn't go
with them but joined a clan called AD, Angelic Demise. This clan influenced
me a great deal. I met some great people, Psycho (now GT-Psydiver), Lust4Deth,
and Tendril. AD started doing very well, we won the DW expansion
league and I got better as well. After a tearful good-bye to AD,
I went and joined my friends in DV. DV had just won DW2 undefeated and
I couldn't believe I was in such a good clan... Unfortunately DV played
2 matches in the months I was a member. Despite this, my skill vastly improved
just playing on DV pub mainly. One other thing of note in DV was
the great fun playing carena on e4m3 with Raven, Antonin, Dartboard, Sunblade,
Hazard, and our great friends over at KOQ. I started getting very
annoyed with DV's lack of match play and one day Meat and I were convinced
into joining IC. I must say, IC was the most fun I've ever had.
Under the leadership of Langolier
and having the unreal sniper of Anfernee we went undefeated in the Apocalypse
Tournament. IC dominated the TF world and I made a lot of friends
also, I started playing scout. I really have to throw some 'specs out to
GT-Ibtar because I learned how to be a good scout through him. After a
long stretch in IC I started to get unhappy and left to join [M]egadeath.
Leaving IC caused some personal strife between Meat, Hate and I so, I only
stayed in [M] for week. Meat told me of his master plan of a new
unbeatable clan... which turned out to be AM. It had been a while
since a clan dominated the TF scene so severely as AM did.
We went 22 - 0 or so.
Around december, AM went inactive and I left to join the newly forming
eV. Like, AM, eV dominated and their record to this day is around
23 - 2. I've retired from TF now but it has been a great run.
I must say that the day I
saw myself on the TF hall of fame was a proud one. I would like to thank
the TF Times for recognizing my accomplishments.
I'd like to give a shout
out to some people I've met along the way who were good friends and influences.
MeatHook, Tricky, HateDept,
Lust4Deth, Psycho, OS, Tendril, Lunk, Forthpit, Antonin, Ice, Hazard,
Nadholio, Raven, Stainless, Shotocane, Sunblade, everyone on DV pub (here's
looking at you littleslug ;D), Mr. Bungle, Suntzu, Eronan, Langolier, Killer
Rat, Cabal, Anfernee, Shrapnel, Navy Seal, Attacka, Lanfear, Case, The
Quick, Ruiner, Ol'Dirty, Sacrifice, Someone, FreeMason, Joda, Zonk, Darkshade
+ Tarrant (you guys caused me no end of grief), and if I didn't mention
anyone I'm sorry this list is running on. Last but not least I'd
like to thank the two people most influential to my scouting, which has
proven to be the most fun class to play, Ibtar and Shad.
That about wraps it up!
