TFC Results August 12th, 1999 Dice dices Black Sun
From Black Sun:
Round 1 started off good, with both teams making some quick caps. We managed to pull ahead with a 4 point lead half way through the match. Then the worst thing that could happen, "Happened!" Two key Defensive members dropped, one right after the other. And one was unable to return and was replaced as fast as we could get a guy in, but it was already too late. Round 2 started out better. Having replaced the two guys that got dropped in round 1, we managed to keep all of our players throughout the second round. But the Lag monster just didn't want to get off of our backs. We found a weakness in there Defense and we exploited it to its utmost potentional and started carring the flag out at will. Dice went with a greater offensive push in the end to try and bring the score back, but having the larger offense, just made it easier for our Offense to score. Round 3 started a little slow. Both teams set up quick but we just couldn't get in. Dice managed a great rush and pulled our flag our once to score. And we managed to get several touch's, but couldn't pull it out. After that it was nothing but a frag fest on both sides. We went to a 6 man Offense near the end, but by that time we where almost at a crawl. Our 2 man D continued to hold off there rush, but with all the mirvs and gernades going off in Dice's fort, latency went through the roof. Now don't get this post wrong, Dice played a great match and are a great bunch of guys. We agreed to play all three rounds on their server and we have learned our lesson. We look forward to playing them again, the next time on more even grounds, if there is such a thing. Clan Erinyes stalls Digital Assassins
RD 1 started on Comedians House of TFC, where pings were in favor of CE. RD started with our offense quickly detting their grate and funneling in, while our d protected our grate for about 5-8 minutes. CE got the first cap within the first 5 mins and proceeded to keep up the pressure, around the 12 minute mark DA made a move on our flag while a soldier was resupplying and made it to our tunnel before getting killed by a soldier on defense. A race to defend the flag ensued, Gate and Rasta setup in the tunnel while Ram held the front and our eng got the gun back up, after 2 minutes of fighting our flag returned making it as far as mid tunnel. Meanwhile our offense kept up the pressure bringing in a total of 14 caps. Rd ended 14-0 in favor of CE. RD 2 moved to DA's server where pings were reversed and DA had an advantage. Realizing this we improvised and were ready for the mess that always come with playing Fortsaken. Both clans had multiple touches but were unable to bring home a cap, rd 2 ended 0-0. Final score 14-0 in favor of CE, our first meeting with Digital Assassins and we look forward to playing them again in the future, GG! Wow! What a match... Round 1 started on CA's server. Both sides sent probing attacks only to be turned away numerous times. The THD offense kept plugging away and trying to keep the senties down for our flag snatchers. About mid-way thru the round we pulled a flag out of the CA base. It took many deaths to finally cap it back home. Towards the end of the round we were able to do it again. The CA defense did a great job. Our defense was rock solid. They only had 1 or 2 touches the first round. Final for round 1 was THD 2 and CA 0. Round 2 moved to THD's server. This match was very similar to the first. Both
sides struggled mightily to touch the coveted flag. The CA offense stepped
the intensity up and was able to get a cap mid-way thru the round. Our offense
battled back and tied it up a few minutes later. Not to be outdone the CA
offense did it again. The final 10 minutes or so were an intense battle to see if
they could tie it or we could seal the victory. Time ran out without another cap.
Final for round 2 was 2-1 in favor of CA.
-------
The match started off delayed again, but once we started it was non-stop action for the whole match. Our defense managed to hold THD back for some time, but they managed to break thru and stole our flag 2 times, while we touched and moved several times, but never capped. It was extremely funny to watch our offensive teams pass each other in the underground train tunnels, where many a firefight broke out, not to mention the numerous frags by train sled.. hehe Round two started off much better and after some extremely furious action,
the smoke finally cleared with us in the lead, but not enough to win the match.
Another fun night of TFC, and of course, we're looking forward to the
rematch THD!

first game was all D, our offense could not break through, neither could theirs.
2nd game we switched 1 player up to O, this was the deciding factor
we capped once, and they never recovered from it
they never even touched our flag once
Coup de Grace squeezes by Ride The Lightning
What can I say. RTL is awesome. Fortsaken... hardest map to cap on yet in match play. Both rounds on our server. Round 1 Started off quickly with the scout rush leading either clan no where. Both sides were fighting tooth and nail. Never getting really close to the flag. Then guess what happened. @home west crashed, we lose 1 player, they lose 3. We quickly call for Guns to sub in for our fallen warrior who jumps in and starts in action. While they were down, Tubaboy touched the flag but couldn't get it past the stairs when his HL freezes. Blade starts to take Tuba's place when he exits and rejoins. The flag is returned and we manage to get one more touch towards the end of round. Score 0-0. We were going to head out to their server, but it was down so we went back to CdG's server. Throughout the evening both sides have decent pings, CdG averaging 170 and RTL 200. Into the match both sides start out the gate. We tried everything at them but to no avail. We finally decide to go engineers, scout and demoman, finally breaking past them. We get the flag and drop it down the elevator where we fought tooth and nail. Eventually we get the flag back to our base for the cap. After that they started to throw the kitchen sink at us. We had just lost a player so we went to a heavier defense. They came at us like wild cats but couldn't touch the flag. At the end of the round, our defense got through to their relatively small defense and pulled out the flag again. We managed to get inside our base, seconds from capping when the round ended. After the smoke cleared, the dust settled, the rockets laid down CdG walked away with a 1-0 Victory on a very hard battlefield known as Fortsaken. With the Victory CdG becomes the champs of the Top 10 Tourney in the First
Round. Great game to RTL, who are professional and have a very talented
group of players. Especially when they were down 3 players and kept us from
capping.
Epidemic describes their humbling by U Suck
Well what can I say but "Hats off to the [US] clan." They took us to school and showed us that we are not immortal. Maybe now some members should take things more seriously if we are to be competitive at this level. This match was a typical, "break down" on every aspect of the game. Defense ran around, changing strat/class, and offense degenerated into a 1 man vs the world kinda deal. Rd1 was on their server with [US] getting the jump on caps and never letting go. About half way into this blood bath, as more and more [US] players went to offense, our Offense of 1 guy snuck the flag out. (I think they were just being nice.) Rd2 was on their server again, and this was just a free for all. We were down by a lot from Rd1 and we decided to just "let it loose" tried all offense, as every class but never got co-ordinated to make it work. Except once when we got the flag. This was fun if it were just a free for all. The atmosphere was really "loose" and I believe the [US] guys enjoyed playing without the tension of regular matches. With matches this lopsided score doesn't matter anymore. I know they just stopped capping. (Thank God or it would have been uglier) We needed this beating. We were due for one. Getting to the level we are at in a very short span of time can play havoc on young egos. This is now a character test for us, do we bounce back? or do we fall apart? Team Character is crucial at the Top level and can be shown not only when things go good, but especially when things go bad. Good Game [US]
August 10th, 1999 Kindred blanks Total Harmonic Destruction
After a heartbreaking stomping by [CE] (who stole all our beer, and Arod took the Coke :P) KiN was posed with the task of regrouping and getting back to familiar ground playing on 2fort. R1 - KiN threw in the fatboy(hw) on o with a mostly heavy offense, breaking the way for Fooster to come flying in. We managed to wrestle out the flag against a heavy d of soldiers/engy/hws. Thier offense managaed to keep the defense busy with scouts and an occasional spy, coupled with some soldiers. R2- more of the goodness that R1 had. KiN kept the same offense. The defense pitched a shut out on this round. holding off the THD offense. This was a good game. THD has some growing room. be ready for these guys to stick together and make a name for themselves. This clan has class and good sportsmanship to boot. GG THD. Sueto[KiN]
U Suck cures Epidemic
We had a good fun ole time.....1st round we a good old fashion 2fort head to head clash with our defense holding strong we sent a whole lotta offense Epi's way and managed to do some major scoring and only let one cap out oops! The game ended 5 mins early (due to server crash) so we added 5 mins to 2nd rnd and went from there..2nd rnd epi started off with almsot all offense but struggled to get threw or defense while our offense made run after run by the end of the game it was just a free for all, all over the map. GG Epi It was fun and it was real but it wasnt real fun :P j/k
Talking Goats be@t Bad Motha F@ckas
The Talking Goats welcomed a new Clan to the STA this Week, BmF (Bad Motha F...) Not the nicest clan name out there but everybody has their own tastes. Unfortunately for both Clans, The Talking Goats T1 server was not available for this match and BmF did not have a server to use. So both rounds were played on one of TG's backup servers, a Dedicated server on ADSL. Both teams averaged about the same latency with the Goats actually getting the worse of it on their own server at times. Round one started out quick for the goats as our 4 man rush got to the flag before their D got setup. Then it was a constant fight for the O to get past their D and get the 2 other caps. Two of the new goats , LuciferSam and CrazyHorse got some good experience on Offence and aided bigtime in all the caps. The goats also had a new member on defence, DarkGlobe who fit in very nicely with the 3 other experience goats. Round two was when the most lag problems hit. Everybody stopped playing TFC and started playing IceSkating-TFC. Where both clans were having the same lag issues we continued on with the match and I would like to commend BmF and all of the Goats for sticking with it. Again the Goats Offence continuosly pushed the flag. And this time the Defence of Raith, Hook, DarkGlobe and Redrum were able to shutout BmF even though they were throwing everything at us (I think I even saw the kitchen sink) The Goats are looking forward to playing BmF again in the future and hopefully
both clans with have their T1 servers running for the match
Black Sun flares past Cogent Alliance
Having just completed our second night of AWESOME matchs, I'm kinda speachless. I think it has to do with the fact the match has been over for 10 minutes and my heart is still racing with excitement. CA showed up with a great attitude and was ready to play. Both rounds where played on CA's Server and Latency was pretty even for the most part. Round 1 started and CA's medics came shotting out of their fort like a bullet through a gun. They where in the basement and taking the flag before we could get our defense in place. They managed some early caps, until our defense dug in and wasn't leting anyone through. Or offense started out slow, but once they got into a grove, the caps started rolling. There where a times I was watching the longest Touch and Go battle to date. I could swear our Offense had to literaly cary the flag one step at a time. Round 2 started out as quick as round 1, but this time, it was an early score by our offense. Not to be out done, CA came at us with everything in their arsonel. One after another they came runing into the basement. But the pressure they aplied on our defense showed, as our Offense began to camp out in their flag room, taking numbers on who would get the flag next. After the smoke cleared, the body parts picked up and the unused packs removed, I finally managed to look at the score and was surprised to see we had won. It is always great to play a clan with outstanding attitudes and great game play. Clans like CA are what make TFC as FUN as it is. To their next opponants I say "Watch out!" And to CA, BlackSun thanks your for a very good and exciting match. ---------
All in all, a very good game played with Black Sun. They were patient when we had some technical difficulties in the beginning, and once we got that ironed out, it was GAME ON. The first round started off with us getting the first cap, and things were even for quite some time, till their offense started pinpointing our weaknesses and exploiting that. Our offense lost steam towards the end there, and were unable to bring us back even with them towards the end of round 1. Round 2 started quickly heated up again, with both sides stepping up the aggressiveness, and many caps being scored on both sides. Our offense did better this time, but it just wasn't enough to pull out the win. A very intense and enjoyable game for this evening. Looking foward to next time Blksun.
30+ traps WOLF
WOW! what a heated battle. Hats off to a great WOLF Clan. The first match got started a little late but once the flag dropped the battle was on. The defenses of both Clans did an incredible job holding on as wave after wave of Offensive players tried snagging the flag. The second match was no different as both clans faught back and forth with Clan 30+ grabbing the first cap and WOLF answering right back with a cap of their own. This went on until 3 to 3 then Clan 30+ took the lead for good with a relentless attack from Ailbe, Chopper, Spaced, Eagle, and Midnight. Great job O this brew is for you!! On D both AG and Vamp proved to be an awesome 1, 2 punch stopping an absolute devastaing WOLF Offense. Great job Clan WOLF can't wait until we meet again, hopefully after my arthritis goes down :)
Clan Destine outmans mOm
The first 2fort map was played on CD's server with aparent even pings for all. For some reason it ended up being 7 CD vs 6 mOm. The CD offense kept mOm's defense off balance enough to cap 10 times. mOm got one good rush in to cap it 1 time. I have to commend mOm's defense on doing a great job in being a pain in our ass! They didn't do much jumping in the first map at all. The second map was played on mOm's server. The pings basically sucked for everyone. This time it was 8 on 8. They had an extremely organized defense to keep us from scoring. Our strong defense kept them from scoring also. This time they attacked with more jumping to make it difficult for our defense. The result of the second map left both teams scoreless. Thanks for the great game mOm and hope to play you again!
August 9th, 1999 Special Defense Unit singles out Double Wide
Double Wide didn't show up, they forfeited. Clan Erinyes takes down Kindred
Rd 1 started on Comedian's House of TFC on pipezone, rd started with CE outpinging KiN by about 90 and our defense got into position quickly. Around 10 minutes into the game the dreaded pm bug hit when the score was at 127-44. The match proceeded with CE pushing their front and containing KiN inside their base. Rd 2 moved to a new Kindred server, after several minutes Sueto offered to play on the Huggie Changer on another map so CE agreed to rock2. After a quick reassignment and getting the HC up and running things got underway. The CE defense, determined for a shutout, held the KiN offense to 0 caps but many touches, while the CE offense pulled in 5 key caps. As always a fun game with Kindred and look forward to playing them in the future.
][nsurrection topples clan Maylstryx
Round 1:
Round 2:
Coup de Grace bops Kollectiv
Tonight CdG faced off with Kollectiv on Pipezone. Before the match, a couple members from their clan entered our irc room and seemed pretty cool. We chatted and then headed off to the server. Round 1 got underway and we quickly pounced out of our base, capping all 4 points within 30 seconds. With our early dose of Quad Damage we kept Kollectiv at bay. They started catching up to us when the PM bug struck and of course we received the typical complaints. (What they never knew about the bug?) We continue to battle on periodically grabbing all four points. Looking at the round 1 score and seeing that we doubled their score, we were satisfied with our team effort, and glad this wasn't a 1-1 match. Final score for Round 1: 234-117. After a slight delay we headed to their server where the pings were atrocious for both sides, except for Kollectiv's lanned 30 pinger. Too bad he couldn't win the game for the entire team. We started off again, the score staying close until we got our first all 4 cp's capped. We broke out for a slight lead on them and continued to build the lead. They eventually started spamming our fort, so Tubaboy responded by camping their flags, drawing much of their enemy heavies and killing the scouts. Final score for round 2: 238-202. Kollectiv has the ability to become a good clan. Glock, their leader and representive has a very mature attitude. Good Game Kollectiv, hopefully we'll be able to play again soon.
---------
First, let me say a buggy map like PipeZone should not be in IGL rotation. 1st Rnd: Coup de Grace had a fast start on K, as we setup a CP defense. But, unfortunately, as we began to catch up in score the prematch bug kicked in with score about 38-38. By IGL rules the round should have ended, but we played on. With our CP defense lost and one of our players forced afk for ten minutes we never came back. 2nd Rnd: After some serious changes in our map strat, we came out fighting. One of are new tactics was to aggresively attack their home cp room. This was not spamming. We did not enter their base. Near middle of round, with the score very close, they sent soldier Tubboy into our base to spam our spawn and flag room several times. I consider that truly unsportsmanlike. On a positive note, there demo defense in cp2 and scout conc jumpers were excellent. If not for the spawn room attacks, I would say "good game, Coup de Grace!" Agression Rangers play well against CompWorld's Frag Force
Both clans agreed to play Well, the 1st round at =AR='s Citadel and the 2nd at ]CWFF['s TFC server. CWFF was patient while we got the server cfg in-line with IGL's requirements with the match starting about 15 minutes late. After having lost to some good clans lately we were hoping some adjustments made tonight would help turn things around. CWFF looks to be a young clan that has been moving up the ranks in IGL, winning their last 2 IGL matches and on a 5 game streak overall. Having played submarine both rounds I didn't get a good view of the action but it was apparent our offense got off to a flying start as we had a couple quick caps. Thereafter the offense kept up a steady pressure and I believe our D was able to keep the flag in its room. 2nd round we added a defender not knowing what to expect at the CWFF server, never having played on it before. The pings looked to be about equal and it was a good thing we had an extra defender as it seemed the 1st few minutes CWFF was intent on holding a clanwide reunion at our flag. They were in the ramproom, water and attic, it seemed all at once, but somehow we held the flag in place. Meanwhile I assume our O found things a little more open as the caps kept coming. Props to CWFF as they came at us hard until the end, pulling out a cap that we did not want to let them have. We have seen a lot of trash talk and whining on MM1 from some of the newer clans but I don't think anyone will have cause to complain about CWFF. They are a class act. Bitchslap bites WOLF
This was a good match, their D was great in 2fort, but they had a little slip up in the O. Our plan was to just have Heavy D in 2fort, and when it got to well to even it out. When the match with 2fort was over it was 0-0. But Well was where we found our own. We found a gap in their defense and we struck. We pulled off a cap and we had some struggle than noticed why and we got 2 more easily. These guys are quite good, be prepared if you happen to be facing them, they have good D. --------
Wolf was verry ready to play, same with BitchSlap! Once that prematch went off, doors opened -- bodys went flying. [BS] ran a simple offence, and Wolf went with their same offence. Both sides had a struggle trying to get the flag and it took at least 10-15 mins before anyone side touched the flag. Slow start but [BS] kept us on our toes with their defence. Once we broke through there was a gun right in our face..... Sent us back to our respawn with the thought "UgH! I was so close!!!!" But we came back and came strong, we never gave up and we got a couple touches on it, but it wasnt enough to keep the 30 min match time from coming to a close.
Next match was on the map Well. Both sides agreed that Pipezone.... well... yeah. =) Once again, slow start - and a verry good effort to get the flag by both sides. It was almost like our first round all over again....... Time passed and finaly clan [BS] got our flag, but as the same time they capped [WOLF]Hummer, after a great effort by [WOLF]Sh@dow to get the flag, came into site to even the match at 10 each. After that it started to slow down a bit, we swiched some stuff up on defence and offence to make things more solid. I'm sure [BS] did the same. The result of that was holding us to only one cap in our 30-10 loss.
[BS] played an AWESOME game and i would play them again in a second! Great sportsmenship and great team! I'll See you guys on the battle field!
NULL nullifies Total Harmonic Destruction
Total Harmonic Destruction has dropped out of the Ironglove league. August 8th, 1999 Black Sun zaps Ride The Lightning
What a great match, with great opponents. We played both rounds on the BlackSun TFC Server and latency was pretty much even, but the lag monster wanted to play in the Second round. Round 1 started out with with some quick caps by both teams. Both defense's started to settle in and where keeping the Offense's at bay. After about 15 minutes into the match, We started to pull away with the lead and managed to keep it through the end. Round 2 started out shaky. Had some minor conections problems at the begining but everyone managed to get on. RTL came at us quick and in a hurry. They stole the flag from right out from under our noses. Getting the first cap. From then on, they only managed touch's. As our Defense was hording off one hell of a atack by RTL, our offense managed to sneak in a take 2 caps. Not to mention all the touch and goes that ended in disaster. We thank RTL for a outstanding match. And how cool they where, even when the lag problems started. We had a great time and welcome any chance to play RTL again in the future. Those guys are class act and I'm sure we will see them again. Thanks Guys! Coup de Grace clamps down on The Steel Claw
Clan TSC, mostly from the U.K., played both rounds on the CdG server, and their pings were fairly high. They fought well though, and did a very well executed attack during each round to net them a cap. The CdG team was able to put many people on offense however, and pulled out quite a few caps. Good luck to TSC, and I hope they can find some opponents closer to home to play. Army of Darkness whacks Slaughter House 5
Match was to be held on {AOD}'s Dead_On_Arrival. We showed a slight ping advantage, not too much to talk about, but SH5 made sure we knew it. They constantly complained of their 300-500 ping throughout the match. Rd1 was the Well, we started out 2 players short, but non-the-less we got our D up quick and our O out to a great start, capping within the first minute. Much respect goes out to our D though as it held their highest scorer to a grand total of 2 frags! In the meantime our Offense managed to pull out 10 caps. {AOD} wins 10-0. After the first match, SH5 demanded that we move the game to their server and we were more than happy to oblige. When we got there however the server was not set up to OGL standard rules and not to mention everyones ping was jumping in and out of the 1000 range. So after this brief escapade, they decide to bring the match back to DOA. Rd.2, we played the map 2morfort, SH5's choice. I must admit I've never seen so much spam in my life! Not only did I not like this map to begin with, but after I realized how easy it can turn into a spammers paradise. When the the last mirv exploded and the dust settled {AOD} pulled out with the win 16-4. This was a fun match, would have been better without the constant complaining and the little server switch-and-switch again episode. GG to SH5 though!
Army of Darkness can't find Bringers of Great Pain
Once again, yet another IGL clan informed us that they have broke up and cannot play us. So no match this week for us. Don't let me turn this into an editorial, but I think there should be stricter process to go through to get into any ladders, and in my opinion if the leader is younger than 16 years old forget about joining a ladder, we have found that these are the types of clans that always end up joining ladders and end up screwing over the other clans that take this game seriously. Too many young, immature clans out there. Excuse the rant, I'd rather play a match and lose than get a forfeit win thats all.
Kill ya Latez,
August 6th, 1999 Digital Assassins take down Hate Inc.
Hate and DA played one hell of a match tonight. The first map was Rock, and it was the most intense map I've played in a long time. Our Offense touched their key only a couple of times, and weren't able to score against the Hate Defense. The Hate Offense gave the DA Defense a great workout, though. Hate touched our flag at least five times, and even moved it as far as near the Gas Chamber once. But the DA Defense hunkered down and weathered the storm. Hate was unable to cap on DA, and we ended the map in a tie, 0-0. The second map was to be played on the DA server, but a couple of the Hate guys were unable to ping it, so we were more than willing to go back to their server for the second map, Fortsaken. The map started and Hate came in to the DA base sporadically at first, not touching the flag. DA captured the Hate flag 3 times before Hate was able to touch our flag but did nothing with it. DA ended up scoring twice more to make it 50-0, and that's how the map ended. After the match, Hate quietly left their server, allowing DA to catch their breath and realize our newly-found #4 spot on the OGL ladder. It was truly a great match, and Hate was a worthy opponent. I hope we can play again. We learned a lot from you guys. Thanks for the game. Brought it.
August 5th, 1999 Epidemic Clan mellows Agression Rangers
These guys are a class act all the way. It was really a shame somebody had to lose. We were late for our first match as one of our leaders told us the wrong time. Anyway, they let us play anyway.(Thanks) We learned a lot from this clan. A great bunch of guys! Rd 1 was on their server. It was laggy for us. =AR= over ran our defense never allowing us to set-up, stopped our offense, and deserved the win. I guess it wasn't a good time to try a new strat tweak.
Rd 2 was on their other server. We made some changes and jumped to joy as our pings were down. This allowed our offense to sneak out some flags, and our defense to hold tight. They didn't even have a touch for about 10-15mins. Anyway, the server crashed with 2mins left. They conceded the win. Now there were some problems now as they didn't have a server anymore. Anyway after the smoke cleared we set a date for the tie-breaker.
Rd 3 was on their server. It was really smooth, and I don't think either team had a ping advantage. Our offense went at them with tremendous pressure and the flags kept coming back to our base. Our defense also held really tight, holding them to 2 caps the entire time. They came hard but today our defense didn't fold under pressure.
Great job =AR=, this was both FUN! and a learning experience. We wish you the best of luck in the future. August 4th, 1999 Coup de Grace runs over Total Harmonic Destruction
Adrenaline was pumping, as two undefeated teams scouted the landscape, the lines were drawn. Round 1 started on our server where we had the ping advantage. We started the match off with a cap and never looked back. THD came on a bit towards the ending of round 1 but it was to late. We won that round pretty handily 15-5. Round 2 was on their server where we actually had the better average ping than them again. Round 2 started off alot more competitive, THD kept the score very close, we exchanged 1 point leads a few times, until we were tied at 6 for a while. We managed to get 2 more caps in the final minutes of round 2 to give us the 8 - 6 victory in round 2. Overall we came out with the match win 23 - 11. We've played THD before and we respect them. They are a class act and fun to play. We look forward to our next engagement with them :-)
Ride The Lightning chases off Wolf
A good match overall with WOLF. Our Meds opened up solid behind a tight Soldier escort capping the flag numerous . Our defense held strong anchored by a unorthodox combo of a HW and a tenacious Engineer. Due to Runs dynamic play style we sought to hold down both captures points at all times and did so successfully. Kudos to Wolf on some hellaciouse duels all across the map. Due to unknown reasons, WOLF forfeited the second map to us. Cogent Alliance fakes out Decoys of Hostility
The match started off strong for us and we pretty much kept them off balance the whole round. After some concern about latency, we finally got the second match underway. DoH got their coordination down on this match and managed to hold us back this time, but it wasn't enough to put them ahead. All in all, it was a good night of TFC and a good match played. GG DoH

Great game all around fun from both sides....our offense was at full strengh and we had a awsome turnout of players and it really showed.....30+ was trying every thing they could to pound down or def and keep or offense outa there base but we where like a wel oiled machine in there...2nd round we had 2 people that had to leave right when game started and our back ups came in not nowing positions so we kinda forgot a main man on def and forgot to blow the grate for a real long time and boy did it show :)....but we had some real fun playing 30+ and look foward to some more games with these guys! -------
This was definitely a learning experience for Clan 30+. Clan US had an Awsome Offense and an Incredible Defense. We tried hard but are lack of experience showed tonight. We learned a lot though and had great time on top of that. Thanks Clan US for the lesson and for being great sports.
August 3rd, 1999 Total Harmonic Destruction evicts Digital Resurrection
DiRe came into the match with only 5 players and put up a valiant effort against clan THD. They never complained once about being outmanned. It was a shame we couldn't have met under more equal terms. Regardless of the situation and the outcome, DiRe is indeed a class act. RAD like totally beats CW(?)
apart from the ping disadvantage we had ( 400 vs 250's or so ) the match went as planned, no difficulties for our side, noone had to make a real effort to win in fact we actually played pretty crap for some of it , hence the 70 total cap points they had..but ew tightened up enough to play average hehe my team was rather annoyed at CW turning team kills on and off repeatedly during the game with no warning or anything, whenever they felt like it but in any case it made no difference, they lost Special Defense Unit evades Operation Strike Force
[No writeup included.] Kindred forecloses on Hate Inc.
We hold on to our Title this week by defeating Hate Inc. Round one was on the Hate Life server and was pretty normal. Lots of conc jumping and close calls but the KiN D was solid and held them to zero caps. Our O pulling out 4. Round two was on the KiN's home server but Hate decided to use the dreaded "ALL O" strategy about halfway through the match pulling out 1 cap. The KiN O took advantage and grabbed 18 caps. GG Hate. Gods of Hate quiet the Talking Goats (sort of)
The first round was a normal round. Our Defense held and our offense capped. Nothing to report. The second round was an absolute fragfest. They decided they would do anything to cap on us and came with all offense. When i say ALL i mean ALL, they had noone in there base. There were times i would see 4-5 hvywep's come running to our door. So we decided to play hardball and 3 of us change to hvyweap's and mowed them down. our 2 man offense continued to cap. 20-0 for a total of 26-0. GG TG. You get the E for effort ---------
Not a whole lot I can say here. We got spanked really hard by Gods Of Hate. First round we tried a more defensive approach which as you can see by the score did not work. 2nd round we realized that we were way behind and needed to catch up quickly and we decided to go 7 then 8 on Offence. My hats are off to Gods of Hate, I beleive that we only got to touch their flag once during both rounds. GoH are great players and they showed great sportsmanship through out especially when our server had problems and they let us use their server for both rounds. Thanks for the great game GoH and I am sure that it was a good learning experience
for all the goats.
Black Sun wallops Mind Over Matter
Hard to report on this one. Round #1 was played on Mind Over Matters server and latency was for the most part in their favor. The match started of with some quick caps by us and some attempts my mOm. We started to pull the flag out at will, which made for easy caps. Or defense reported to me afterward, that they redecortated the fort with nice color full spray paint. They even have a picture. 100 BlackSun - 00 mOm Round #2 was played on BlackSun TFC Server and latency was pretty much even. After making a couple replacement by us, the match started. This time mOm came at our defense with everything they had. But after the smoke cleared, our defense continued with the had of poker they where playing. 50 BlackSun - 00 mOm. Keep Cap'en! Epidemic Clan infects Cogent Alliance
We were down a man the entire match, but not to take anything away from [CA], they played well. [CA] is a very new clan to TFC. And because of this they are also inexperienced. However they put up a good fight and made us fight for for the win. Rd1 was played on their server, which was much too laggy for us to generate any offense. They came hard, and managed to slip spies by our defense fairly easily. Miscommunication on Defense, they win 9-6. Rd2 was on our server. We made some changes on defense, and pings were down allowing our offense to keep pressure on them and keep the flags coming back to our base. Defense held tight, and didn't give them any chance to catch up. We win 18-6. We made way too many mental errors in this match. Luckily we managed a win.
-------
All I can say is lag sucks... Conditions like this don't really make it fun for either team. We won the match on our server, and they won the match on their server. They just won by more ;) Hopefully next time, we can plan to try and use an MSG server or something as this just detracted from what should've been an enjoyable evening of some TFC action. I know we've all experienced these situations, it's still frustrating nonetheless. GG [EPi] you guys did good. Next time we'll see though ;)

[No writeup sent.] Ride the Lightning doesn't play 100k.devil.legion
From 100k.d.l: 100k.devil.legion regretfully forfeited the OGL match scheduled for Sunday August the 1st versus RTL. Due to scheduling problems, we had a back to back match from IGL to OGL that evening. After coming out of our IGL victory over [BS] a little behind schedule and losing available players due to scheduling conflicts, we decided to eat a forfeited loss out of respect to RTL who showed up on time and with all members. Again we apologize for the inconvenience and have learned a lesson about scheduling doubleheaders. On a good note: RTL and 100kdl decided to play a private pickup match that evening. We mixed teams and played a fun round of well, rock, and 2fort. It's good to see a team that can kick back and enjoy the game for what it is. Thanks RTL for being a sport about the entire incident...we won't be doing any doubleheaders in the near future. August 2nd, 1999 Kollectiv squirts by Cybertron Warriors
Once again, Kollektiv faced a formidable opponent on the battlefield. Across the field stood Cybetron Warriors poised for battle. The first battle took place on Cybertron Warriors server, with a few minor problems the game got off to a start with a bang. Both teams began caping quickly. Cybertron Warriors began to pull ahead of Kollektiv, then Kollektiv was able to make a come back by capturing all four command points on two separate occasions. However Cybertron Warriors weren't going to give up that easy. They fought a hard battle all the way to the end of the round, never giving Kollektiv a minute of rest. The round came down to the wire with Kollektiv scoring 185 and Cybertron Warriors scoring 180. The last round moved to Kollektiv's home turf. However once all of Cybertron Warrior's members got into the server, it was apparent that their pings were extremely to high for the game to be fair. Therefore Kollektiv agreed to play the last round on Cybertron Warrior's server, since Kollektiv's pings at their server were playable. Second round start out with three of Kollektiv's members having connection speed problems. Kollektiv held in, and waited out the ping problems the best they could until it came back to normal. During this time Cybetron Warriors was able to generate as much as a 40-point lead on Kollektiv. Then in the last half of the game Kollektiv kicked into high gear, caping points and holding them. Kollektiv also succeeded in one more capture of all four points, further helping their score. When the battlefield cleared, Kollektiv was left standing with a six-point lead. Kollektiv would like to say hat's off to Cybetron Warriors for a game well played, and are glad to see clans like this in the IGL league. WOLF manhandles Digital Resurrection
[DiRe] had about 5-6 players missing. I got the message around the normal forfit time (15 mins) saying that they couldnt field the players. I wish DiRe the best of luck in the future and hope to play them soon!
Zodiac Braves fend off Black Sun
---------
What a great match. The fun we had should beoutlawedl in some states. :) All three rounds where played on BlackSun TFC server and latency was pretty even for both teams. Round 1 started out fast, with both teams managing to steal the flag at random. Then ZB's defense dug in and started to hold us.. ZB then took the lead and didn't want to give it up. We changed or offensive STRAT and managed to get the flag down off the ledge at will. The score remained tie through out most of the match, until we managed to take the lead and hold it through the end. 28 BlackSun - 24 ZB Round 2 started a little different, both teams managed some touch's but couldn't get the flag out. Nearing the end of the game ZB was able to use a Spy/Scout combo to get the flag out of the flag room, then it became a touch and move from there, leading to a score by ZB. 00 BlackSun - 10 ZB Round 3 was just as much fun as the first 2 rounds. Both teams Defense dug in and wasn't letting the key go. We manged to get the key several time, only to be stoped by ZB's awsome soldiers. ZB keep coming and coming and just would stop. ZB then managed to get in and take the key, and was able to cap it. 00 BlackSun - 10 ZB It was a great match with a great bunch of guys. Even though we lost and it was such a close game. ZB wanted it more and diserved the win. Way to go guys and we look forward to a rematch! clan Maylstryx defies Coup de Grace
Yet another good game with CDG. This was a new map for both clans, so I'm sure both sides had some uncertaincy on whether or not certain strategies would work...well we had less to worry about considering we scrimmed with US(and some ][) earlier in the week+...but still that was a scrim and isn't neccessarily the same as a match. As for the game, round1, our strategy proved to be more effective(I won't give details onto what we had :) giving us a wide margin lead for the 1st round...in the 2nd round, CDG changed their strategy(from my view, looked similiar to ours)which proved much mor effective..leaving the game close, but they didn't manage to pull off a win for round2..GG CDG
][nsurrection fills U Suck's well
Team Fortress Classic combat is a year-round event, and the heat on tonight's battlefield was rivaled only by the record heat felt by most of the United States. ][nsurrection has felt the heat, dropping a recent heartbreaker to KiN, and finding themselves out of IGL title contention for the time being. U Suck, who recently avoided exctintion with a near break-up, and an STA loss courtesy of the Gods of Hate, wipe the proverbial sweat from their brow to take the field opposite ][nsurrection. This was a match for morale rather than a mere spot on a ladder, as consecutive losses can un-nerve even the most stalwart clans. Round One took place on ]['s new server, courtesy of new recruit Hardcore, and after initial password problems and a half hour delay, the battle was joined with both clans down a man. Both clans elected to play Well6 as opposed to Pipezone. ][nsurrection's defense worked the way it was intended, as a well-oiled machine, collectively destroying all who approached the flag. On the other side, U Suck regained their 8th man. and their defense fought tooth-and-nail with the heavy class/scout rush of the ][nsurrection offense. ][nsurrection's Pritz staged a spectacular offensive display, and he and his teammates came off with six caps to US's zero. ][nsurrection got their 8th man in with about seven minutes to go, but it made little difference. The first round went to ][nsurrection, 6-0. U Suck met Round Two with a ferocity ten times that of in the previous round, while ][nsurrection fought to maintain their level of play despite a 6 point cushion. ][nsurrection's offense shifted their focus to the enemy attic, attempting to confuse the U Suck soldiers standing guard. Not easily misled, the U Suck defense tightened their hand around their flag, making ][ earn their caps. In the 23rd minute of the second round, U Suck's determination seemed to crumble at the foundation, as half their players exited the game with no warning. An unfortunate end to a hard fought battle, as internal strife within US seemed to come to a head at the most inopportune time. ][nsurrection wishes U Suck the best of luck in the future, and gives respect to those in US who showed true professionalism and stuck it out until the end. Your final score, 14-0 in favor of ][nsurrection. Hate Inc can't motivate Total Harmonic Destruction
THD did not give us the pleasure of their presence on the battlefield. When I went to their IRC channel to ask if they were going to be joining us on the server or not, I was called & asshole. Hats off to THD and their awesome never say die attitude! NULL blockades Army of Darkness
Round One: The MSG Server was the setting for what was to prove to be one of the most enjoyable battles of my carreer. Pipezone is a fun map, and a refreshing change of pace from the standard fare. When the doors opened, NULL led off with a strong Offense to deny AOD as many points as possible. But they were as equally determined to win as they volleyed ownership of the Command Points with us. Back and forth it went until NULL broke the ice and commanded all four CP's to get the coveted Quad Damage. AOD deployed an engineer who kept us guessing where his sentry would pop-up next. Their shadow-spy caught all of us in the dark at least twice, and their HWGuy pinned us down quite a few times when we least expected it. But NULL was able to capture all four CP's two more times to win the round. [NULL]265-[AOD]146 Round Two: This was played on AOD's server with a slight delay while we waited for their respawn delay to be reset to "0". We didn't know quite what they would throw at us this time but NULL pushed ahead anyway. This time, we were greeted with spammo-demos, psycho-pyros and insane HWGuys. They threw everything but the kitchen sink at us, but we were able to capture all four CP's twice. They defended their homebase CP valiently, and we were cut down mercilessly but NULL was able to capture it for the Quad. AOD believed this was a week off with Download being gone, so they were not practiced on this map. Regardless, they played like true professionals and NULL looks forward to the next match against them. GG AOD! [NULL]284-[AOD]146 100k.devil.legion has no fun against BitchSlap
Both teams agree: Pipezone wasn't fun. Agression Rangers try harder than Evil Dead
We showed. They tried. They couldn't. We win. CompWorld Frag Force struggle past Bringers of Great Pain
It was a tough battle with both sides struggling...unfortunately we were struggling against our own players because BGP were struggling elsewhere. |
