Hints & Tips | Concing

Concing

Concing, or conc jumping, is a technique to use the blast of a concussion grenade (which is harmless) to launch yourself trough the air with a high velocity. The closer you are to a conc when it goes off, the further you'll go. Concing can only be done by all classes, but the Ranger and the Field Medic are the only ones that carry concussion grenades. There are a few different ways to conc jump:

Basic - Conc jumping from a stationary conc grenade

  1. Throw a conc on the ground in front of you so it is between you and the direction you want to jump.
  2. Listen to the 'peep peep peep squeek' sound.
  3. When it squeeks, jump over the grenade so it explodes behind and below you.
  4. You should now be flying trough the air.
  5. Change the timing to jump further/higher

Medium - conc jumping with a late release (generally team-only lifts).

  1. Look away from where you want to go, and hold down your conc nade key.
  2. Look at the floor.
  3. When the grenade squeeks, release the grenade and jump.

Hard - conc jumping on the move (generally when running away with the flag)

  1. Whilst moving hold down your conc grenade key.
  2. After the squeek flick down your view to the floor.
  3. Release the grenade key. Then jump.

Very hard - 2 concs primed at once (generally to get to and from a heavily defended flag position quickly)

  1. Throw a conc on the ground in front of you as you would do for a basic conc jump.
  2. After 2 beeps, depending on the distance, prim a second conc grenade in your hand.
  3. Jump normally with the first conc when it squeeks.
  4. Then with the second one you do a conc jump on the move when u landed.

Almost impossible (online) - Double conc jump (generally to show off those l33t skillz at a clan try-out )

  1. Throw a conc on the ground as you do for a basic conc jump.
  2. After one beep prime a grenade in your hand.
  3. Jump off the first grenade then turn to face the way you came from and look down.
  4. When the next grenade squeeks, wait for half a second then release it.
  5. You should not touch the ground in the middle of this one.
(Note: A good place to practice this is from balcony to balcony in The Well. It's possible)
