This is my first Quake map!

I definitely got way more comfortable with using trenchbroom and
with quake mapping in general during my time making this; the
first areas I made stand in stark contrast to the quality of the later
areas. I upgraded most of it to be more consistent but some are still
very much untouched since the first iteration.

The main issue I found was I went into it building an area based on
aesthetic decisions, without thinking too much about gameplay. This
was mostly caused by trying to gain familiarity with the tools. As
such, the level flow and encounters are not particularly tight,
though I did try to lean into it and make the most of what I had
already built.

There are also many unrealised ideas that exist as small vignettes
hinting at bigger plans. I like to think they help build a world
around the very small level they exist in :)

I received a lot of help and encouragement from the guys over at
the terrafusion discord, especially Muk and Bal, who also inspired
a lot of what I eventually made. My map would be a lot less spiky if
it weren't for them.
