The level itself looks very nice although the textures look like they were drawn on giving the level a cartoonish feel. Unfortunately, the cartoon feeling is the closest you get to any atmosphere within this level. Now, this isn’t your typical Quake type feeling but as a level by itself it is very well done.
Stinger is definitely a nice looking level that moves with super quickness, takes full advantage of Quakes 3D engine and has plenty of detail. Where most mappers have windows that look out at a background giving a flat look, CardO actually designed a small outside area for each window making them much more realistic and eye catching. I would definitely recommend this technique to other mappers. For some more examples of detail just check out the piled up sand in the corners and on the stairs, great job. I also really enjoyed the way this map flowed and worked together making it easy to navigate through. A thumbs up to the design.
Item placement is also done well with the Quad Damage available on a balcony, accessible only by a wind jump, that is open to let out your means of destruction. I would have liked to seen the mega health in a better location however. All weapons make an appearance, except for the Super Nailgun, with plenty of ammo and health around to make for some great fraggin.
