Your favourite map in 2009!

Congratulations to than. His map Plumbers Don’t Wear Ties (But They Do Carry Shotguns) was deemed the best release of the past year by the about 70 people who voted.
Time to replay this gem!
textures2quake, next bounty claimed
Baker has released a tool to convert image files to Quake textures. It adjusts the length of the filename if needed and keeps a log of those renamings. Converting “modern” texture sets to use with Quake and engines that support external textures has never been easier.
Baker declined the bounty and instead proposed a new one: Provide whatever is needed in QuakeC to use origin brushes. Please read through this thread if you are interested. We are both not sure how to properly phrase the goal.
First Model converter alpha released
Sajt released an alpha version of his model converter tool (for which a bounty was declared) over at Inside3D. “(…) this is NOT a stable release. It’s not even a beta. It’s an alpha.” so make sure you read that post entirely.
Since mdl/md2/md3 to mdl conversion is working quite well already and it is not like Sajt would run away laughing like a madman, I gave him the bounty already. So that makes two successful bounties already. Awesome!
First bounty claimed, multi-thread VIS bug fixed
I am very happy to announce the first bounty being claimed. Tuna has fixed the bug in WVis where interrupting and resuming would lead to an error. The patch is available here. A binary is available here. (Somehow I could not create a ZIP file, sorry…)
Thanks Tuna!
The model converter and Ogg Vorbis bounties are going strong. I am very glad how well this turns out.
Your favourite map(s) in 2009?
2009 was a low quantity – high quality year. 11 singleplayer map releases if you don’t count bugfixes (which is a worrying trend).
You have 2 votes, choose wisely. Keep in mind that this poll is about what the “best” release is, not a Top10 or something. The result will be unfair for all but place #1. The poll is open until the end of January.
The order is randomly shuffled list. There probably still is a bug with Firefox when you click on the links, marking the just visited map with a check mark.

Oh and some numbers for the past year, they are faulty thanks to stupid download managers and overzealous search engine spiders but: 1.5 Terabytes sent out, 150k visitors and 4000k hits. Divide that by X and it might be more close to reality. The Quake Injector caused about 15000 downloads.
The top downloads (if you want to trust the logs, see above…) are:
